1. Cooking Skill & Execution (35 Marks)
Judges may consider:
- Preparation process
- Cooking methods and techniques
- Ingredient handling
- Organization and workflow
- Overall execution of the dish
- Ability to successfully complete the recipe
This category focuses on the participant’s cooking ability and overall performance in the kitchen.
2. Creativity & Innovation (25 Marks)
Judges may consider:
- Original ideas
- Personal adaptations
- Resourcefulness
- Creative use of ingredients
- Innovative cooking approaches
- Problem-solving and improvisation
Examples may include creating a dish from leftovers, giving a traditional recipe a unique twist, adapting recipes to available ingredients, or developing a personal version of a favourite dish.
3. Story Behind the Dish & Personal Connection (25 Marks)
Judges may consider:
- Authenticity of the story
- Personal meaning and connection
- Memorable experiences or incidents
- Cultural or family significance
- Emotional impact
- How well the participant explains why the dish is special
The story may be about family, friendship, celebrations, personal achievements, innovation, community, or any meaningful experience connected to the dish.

Judges may consider:
- How the dish brings people together
- Family, friendship, community, or cultural connections
- Shared experiences and memories
- Hospitality and inclusion
- Alignment with the competition theme

The People’s Choice Award will be determined separately through public voting and will not influence jury scoring.
